I met Isobelle when she came along to her friend Megan's birthday photo shoot a few weeks ago and was delighted to meet up again with Isobelle to take some location photographs in Lydiard Park in Swindon. We met up at the park on Saturday morning and although cold, it was lovely and sunny. Taking location portraits of children allows me to be more creative in the use of lighting and backgrounds. These are a few of my favourites photographs of Isobelle.

I spent some time with Kate and her daughter Molly in Lydiard Park, Swindon yesterday doing a portrait location session for Mothers Day. The weather was a bit dull and a little cold for Molly but despite the weather we got some really lovely photographs. She is so cute... looking forward to taking photographs of all triplets next time. It was lovely to have special photographs taken of just Mum and Daughter and it makes a great photograph present for Mother's day.

At Paul and Matthew's civil partnership at the Roman Baths, I took the opportunity of getting an up to date photograph of myself. I've seen so many photographer's websites where the photograph of themselves is so out of date. I liked this one of me so thought I would share it. I will soon be adding it to my website. I think it is important for perspective clients to see what you look like. The Roman Bath's makes a great background setting to a photograph.

Sometimes we can take a photograph that we like the look of but it means so much more to the person in the photograph. I liked this photograph because Natalie and Hollie had the same pose. After seeing the photographs, to Natalie this means 'me and my shadow'. It is a great photograph to treasure.

Sticks were the answer for Luke... he was such a happy boy when he found the sticks to play with. In the end, he didn't want to go home and wanted to find monsters in the woods .. boys...

Saturday morning was perfect weather, cold and sunny, for a photo shoot in the park. I met up with Natasha, Hollie and Luke in Lydiard Park for a photo shoot. Luke was a little shy at first but soon came around when we found sticks to play with. Hollie wasn't shy at all and being a typical little girl loved having her photos taken.

Megan and her 6 friends came to the studio on Friday evening for her birthday photo shoot. The girls were all very excited and arrived for the first photo in their PJs. They had plenty of outfits to change into too!

Paul and Matthew's Civil Partnership

I was delighted when Paul and Matthew asked me to take photographs at their party to celebrate their civil partnership. I had previously taken photographs at Paul's 40th birthday and Matthew's 30th birthday party, so from past experience I knew it was going to be great party. I met them at the Roman Baths, Bath and reception drinks were held around the Great Bath which has a stunning view of Bath Abbey in the distance. We were all a little cold but such a great setting for reception drinks.

After dinner in the Pump Rooms Restaurant, the party got going by a surprise appearance of Kylie Tribute Band . Celena (Kylie) was fantastic and definitely got everyone up on the dance floor! I'm sure the party kept going for a very long time after I left.

Pre Wedding Photo Shoot for Chris & Louise

I am so looking forward to taking Chris and Louise's wedding photographs after doing their pre-wedding shoot yesterday morning. Chris and Louise have booked me to take their wedding photographs in April 2010 at The Abbey in Malmesbury and reception at the Old Bell Hotel in Malmesbury.

Chris wasn't a big fan of having his photographs taken but hope that being a female wedding photographers, I was able to make him feel relaxed. The grounds around The Abbey in Malmesbury are a fantastic setting and am sure I will get some stunning bride and groom photographs at their special wedding day.

Back from my photography conference in London

I had a fantastic time at my photography conference. The business school on Tuesday and Wednesday gave me lots of good ideas of marketing, products, branding.... my to-do list is huge! Catherine Connor from Annabel Williams Photographic Training wow'd us all with her enthusiasm and passion - why we would not want to succeed after such a great presentation! There were lots of other speakers that inspired and motivated me too. Sandy Puc from America did a great demonstrated on baby posing... so I've contact Lisa, one of my previous brides to do some baby portraiture with her new born son Daniel.

What came across at the seminars was the importance of our printed photographs. We are in danger of her becoming the decade of loss memories. Computers get changed, disks are lost and our digital images are gone for ever. I'm sure all of us have a stack of photographs that we wouldn't dream of throwing away. How important our memories are and we should treasure our photographic memories.

This reminded me of this Christmas... I scanned in some old photographs and made a calendar for my parents - they loved it. I love the photographs I have of me and my two sisters when we were children. These photographs are me, my past and what is important.

My Mum and Dad when they got married back in 1966!

I love this photograph of me .. hope I don't ever lose my smile. I was once told when I take photographs my smile is infectious!

Obviously I didn't inherit my photography skills from my parents! I'm cut off! However, it's still important as it shows me and my sisters and our surrounding environment.

I remember my Mum saying they had a professional photographer come to the home to take our photograph - i wonder whether something is being lost with our white background portrait photographs.

Going to get back to that to-do list and hope you see lots of new and exciting changes happening over the next few months....

It was lovely to hear from Cathy and Rob that Amelia had been born (5 weeks early though). I had taken Cathy and Rob's wedding photographs in August 2008 and was delighted that they wanted me to take photographs of their baby girl. Amelia was born in September so was just 8 weeks old when she came to the studio. With lots of feeds through the session, we managed to get lots of photographs of Amelia wide awake. She is so gorgeous.

I can't believe where all the time has gone and our summer truly now gone with the clock changing this weekend. I'm looking forward to shooting my three winters weddings coming up over the next few weeks..... Julie and Warren at Crown of Crusis, Hayley and Neil at Ivy Hotel, Wroughton and Diane and Scott in November at the Alexandra Hotel, Wroughton.

Last weekend I had the pleasure of being able to take photographs at Lorraine and Colin's wedding. I had been the photographer at Lorraine's sister's wedding over 18 months ago at Marsh Farm Hotel, Wootton Bassett. It was lovely to return and take photographs at Lorraine's too. It was a lovely sunny day although not getting married until 4pm, the sun had almost disappeared and starting to get a little cold. We were still able to take some great despite it getting a little chilly.

Dawn and James were married at the Hare and Hounds in Westonbirt - a fantastic location for a wedding. Dawn and James wanted a relaxed style of photography and nothing too posed - just capturing their wedding day.

Dawn had spent loads of hours designing their Alice and Wonderland themed table decorations - it looked fantastic. She did an excellent job!

I love this photograph of Dawn - adds to the Alice and Wonderland theme. A natural one of the beautiful bride.

Minaxi and Brian were married at the Pear Tree Hotel, Purton in Wiltshire. It was a fantastic day. It was a hot, sunny day and the surrounding were perfect for great photographs.

Minaxi and Brian are away on honeymoon but I did manage to get their photographs processed for them to view before they went away. They loved them!

The colours of the Indian wedding dress were fantastic - Minaxi is such a beautiful bride.

The cake had a little a little car accident on it's way down from the midlands. The Pear Tree hotel did a fantastic job of making it look stunning.

It was great to be able to share Nicola and Matthew's wedding on Saturday 6th June.

The weather forecast didn't look good for Nicola and Matthew's wedding but it turned out okay in the end. Wasn't a sunny day but at least dry so we could take photographs outside.

It had been raining all morning and as soon as it stopped we went outside for some photographs but didn't want her to spoil her wedding shoes!!

Bridal Photo Shoot with JJ's Hair Group

I met up with Jane from JJ's Hair Group a few months ago and we decided to work together to promote our businesses. Jane already has a great reputation as a leading hair salon within the Swindon and Cirencester area and I am delighted that I had the opportunity to work with Jane and her team.

As a wedding photographer, I think it is important to be aware of the latest bridal fashions as every bride wants to look stunning for their wedding day. I chose the wedding dress from Harmony Brides in Swindon which matched perfectly to our theme.

So after careful planning, with the help of a wedding planner, Lynn Whitmarsh, we arrived on Bank Holiday Monday to start our photo shoot. The weather forecast didn't look good but by lunchtime the sun was shining and we were able to get some great shots.

Elishma won the title of Miss England last week and I was delighted when she contacted me to take photographs for her portfolio. It was bright sunny Sunday afternoon and I chose a derelict dairy to take photographs of Elishma - it was a fantastic location to create a countryside feel to her photo shoot.

A big thank you to Becky who had modeled for me when I did my photography degree. I was so lucky to have an excellent model for all my photo shoots. My three daughters and I have very fond memories of joining Becky at the Miss England Final last July. She did really well and we were so proud of her.

There is nothing more special that seeing little ones grow up. I can't believe Ella is now 4 years old. It was almost 5 years ago when I took photographs of Sarah's bump and as those years have gone by I have watched Ella grow and her brother Oscar arrive. It was a great pleasure to join her at her 4th birthday party.

Victoria and David

After taking photographs of Victoria's sister at her wedding almost three years ago, I was delighted when Victoria and David contacted me to take photographs at their wedding. There is nothing better than being chosen as a wedding photographer when a bride has seen you in action and the final results.

I was really excited when they told me of their wedding venue in Cornwall. David and Victoria got married at the church in Mylor Bridge which is situated next to the harbour in Mylor.

When I arrived down in Cornwall on the Friday afternoon, it was raining, cold and windy but the weather forecast was good for the Saturday. The forecast was right, we all woke to a lovely sunny morning.

It was a fantastic day from start to finish. I was able to get some fantastic shot of Victoria and David at the harbour and then at the beach. A perfect setting for bride and groom photographs.

Perfect bridesmaid, Phoebe and paige boy, James .. so sweet. Although James' suit didn't always look this clean!

Ultravox at Portsmouth

I had a fantastic time yesterday taking photographs at the Ultravox concert in Portsmouth.

It was a great opportunity to have been given a back-stage pass to take photographs of Ultravox; Midge, Chris, Warren & Bill before they went on stage.

Miss Wiltshire / Miss Swindon auditions took place

I was delighted to be asked to take photographs at the first round of the competition to find Miss Wiltshire / Miss Swindon.

Helen Drew was one of the girls who had entered and hopeful of being crown Miss Wiltshire / Miss Swindon.

All the girls were lovely and I hope to see them again at the finals on the 16th May at the Old Bank in Old Town, Swindon.

Laura's Bump Photo Shoot

Laura and James' are expecting their first baby at the beginning of June. I was delighted they chose to have their 'bump' shots taken at my studio and very much looking forward to taking the baby photos when baby Smith arrives.

I created an antique effect on one of their images - perfect for hanging up in the nursery :)

Keeping with the castle theme for Alison and Tom's wedding, we went to Farleigh Hungford Castle near Bath. It was a lovely spring day and we got some great shots. Alison and Tom have chosen one of the images to use for their wedding invitations. Alison an Tom's wedding is on the 20th June at Old Wardour Castle, Salisbury.
